Hearing the Sound of Om During Meditation

Many spiritual aspirants report hearing a sound — often described as Om — during meditation. Why does this happen?

The universe itself was created through the vibration of Om. This primordial sound exists within each of us. When you start to hear it during meditation, it means that your inner sound is beginning to awaken and become audible.

By regularly chanting OM mandra during meditation, you will eventually hear even new, subtler sounds as you deepen your spiritual experience.

When Will I Reach the Next Stage?

A common question among spiritual practitioners is: “When will I advance to the next stage?”

The truth is that expectations can block your spiritual growth. Spiritual progress happens naturally and cannot be forced. Instead of focusing on reaching a higher stage, simply dedicate yourself consistently to yogam and meditation, without expecting any results.

When the time is right, you will be lifted effortlessly to higher states of consciousness. Trust the process.

Is an Egg Considered Vegetarian or Non-Vegetarian?

Many wonder whether an egg is vegetarian or non-vegetarian, especially when pursuing a spiritual path. Strict spiritual disciplines discourage eating non-vegetarian food to cultivate compassion for all living beings.

However, don’t force yourself unnaturally. Eat what you feel comfortable with now. As you grow spiritually, a natural aversion to certain foods will arise. When that happens, listen to your body and mind, transition accordingly, and ensure you replace nutrients like proteins and vitamins with appropriate vegetarian sources.

Impact of Eating Non-Vegetarian Food While Meditating

Consuming non-vegetarian food while engaging in yogam or meditation practices can create a noticeable difference in your inner experience. Non-veg foods tend to stimulate the body and mind, making it harder to achieve a meditative, peaceful state.

As you advance in yogam, cravings naturally diminish, and you may find yourself effortlessly leaning toward simpler, lighter foods. Practitioners often find they feel less hungry and enter a calm, blissful state akin to being “intoxicated” by divine energy.

Why Can’t I See Light During Meditation?

Some people wonder why they cannot see visions or lights during meditation.

Again, expectations are the biggest hurdle. Spirituality is not a transaction — it is a surrender. Practice silently and faithfully, without seeking rewards like visions or experiences. When your mind becomes pure and silent enough, experiences will arise naturally, without your chasing them.

The Importance of Silence and Selflessness

On the spiritual path, two important practices are:

    • Speaking less: Silence helps preserve inner energy and promotes deeper awareness.
    • Overcoming selfishness: Realize that others are not different from you. Understand their behavior with compassion instead of judgment.

When you master these principles, you naturally become a guide or master yourself, helping others not from a position of superiority, but from a place of love and understanding.

Living in the Material World: Detached Yet Engaged

In material life, the ideal is to live detached while being engaged, like water on a lotus leaf, fully present yet untouched by the surroundings.

When something goes wrong, a wise individual does not waste time feeling regretful. Instead, they fix the mistake and resolve not to repeat it. Growth comes from open-minded learning rather than rigid judgment.

Everyone and Everything is a Guru

In the spiritual journey, we must adopt a humble mindset. Everyone and everything around us is a guru. Every situation and every person can teach us something valuable if we are willing to learn.

Approach life with an open heart, humility, and a thirst for inner wisdom. Every moment and every experience is part of your sacred training.
